Enactus MLNC (Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi) is a student-run entity that focuses on contributing to the society by helping the underprivileged and bring a positive change to the environment. We had a conversation with the team, let’s read how their contribution is making changes in society.
Project Prabhakshay is an effort towards a brighter, cleaner and greener future by taking various measures towards promotion of solar energy. The project focuses on providing smart solar lighting products as a solution that prohibits the use of fossil fuels and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. These products are made from upcycled plastic.
Prabhaअक्षय aims to bring about climate change by collaborating with various innovative industries to provide these products at nominal prices.
It empowers cities to become healthy and sustainably smart, using its two entrepreneurial ventures: Our first and bestselling product is the Prabhakshay Solar Lamp, where we provide a potential remedy to the threatening issue of increasing plastic waste as well as an affordable renewable energy alternative to you.
They described their product as:
- Our lamp is a portable lighting solution that makes use of solar energy as its source, so you don’t have to worry about using an external source of power. We do provide External USB port & cable in case of emergencies.
- What gives our lamp a one up is the fact that its outer cover is made by using upcycled sturdy plastic paint buckets, thus fulfilling our collective aim of lesser plastic waste in the environment, one bucket at a time.
- Our lamp charges up to 100% in 90 minutes, lasts up to 2 days, and is available with 7 different brightness options, as per your need.
- It also comes handy as a table lamp with its dim light option as well as an aesthetic decor item because of its appealing designs & packaging to brighten up your setting.
- We also provide the option of customized exquisite designs as per your requirement and ambience so that you too could step towards sustainability along with us.
- Our “Detox Your Inbox” campaign encouraged email deletion as a way to cut down on carbon emissions. It recorded more than 70,000 deleted emails, decreased carbon emissions by about 2 tonnes, and indirectly affected more than 500 lives.
So Lets light up your place the eco friendly way. Solar Lamps – Solar Lamp is an upcycled simple product with the application of solar photovoltaic technology, which has found good acceptance in domestic regions especially where there is an irregular and scarce power supply.
Solar Street Lights – Smart Solar Street Light system is designed for outdoor application in un-electrified remote areas. This system is provided with battery storage backup that is sufficient to operate the light for 10-11 hours daily. It provides alternative solar energy solutions for domestic, industrial and commercial establishments.
We have also launched a power bank recently to take this project into a new direction.
