Parivartan – The Social Service Society of Sri Venkateswara College organized their Annual Fest, JAAGRITI’18 on 2nd February, 2018 and they would like to thank their convenor, Pratima ma’am, teachers, the core team and all the volunteers for it’s success.

The vibrant day started with a Panel discussion on ‘ Accessible Health Care’. The panel included the following dignitaries:
Ms Rema Nagarajan, Senior Journalist, TOI
Ms Sunayana Singh, CEO, ORGAN India
Mr Cyriac Antony, Treasurer of DNiP Care

They thoroughly discussed the measures that the Indian government and the people of the nation will have to take in order to improve the current scenario. They brought to light statistical data owing to the current healthcare facilities and emphasised on the fact that healthcare is not a ‘Commodity but a Right’.

Next they had a Plantation Drive that took place around the college campus. There, certainly, is no better way to make the air around us breathable and our ambience, more beautiful than planting a sapling in to the earth and cherishing it’s presence for years and years. ( The other way, most evidently, is to stop pollution 🙂 )

The NGO Mela was the centre of attraction of the festival. The college ground staged around 14 renowned NGOs professing their selective motives (animal Care, women empowerment, youth empowerment, sanitation, environment protection, child’s rights, etc)
The NGOs that were there included- Womenite, CRY, Lakshyam, Youth for Seva, Sulabh School Sanitation Club, Cansupport, Blood connect, Paalna, Vaatavaran, Organ India, Wildlife SOS, Smile Foundation and FIAPO.

The Nukkad Natak shook the entire college and attracted everyone to the main ground. They presented a skit on ‘Domestic Violence’ and spread awareness among students on how to curb it, followed by a signature campaign that was meant to help the victims of such cruelty.

The event culminated with the event Ad Mad that involved participation of teams comprising of students from different colleges, where they had to use their creativity to promote social campaigns and services by cooking-up advertisements and depicting them with maddening creativity.

The event was a successful one, with the involvement of people from the entire college and from outside too. And yet again we thank each and every soul who was a part of the event.
Cheers to a bright day that ended with even brighter smiles 🙂
